Psychosocial Occupational Therapy or Psychotherapy?

As a Psychosocial Occupational Therapist, I work eclectically and holistically using many approaches that include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). As an Integrative Psychotherapist in Advanced Training I work in a relational, existential and humanistic way.

If you are considering therapy but you are uncertain of whether this is the right step for you, I offer a free telephone consultation for you to discuss your current situation and any questions you may have concerning therapy. During this and our first face to face session, we can explore whether Occupational Therapy or psychotherapy or counselling would be best for you at this time. You can then leave the room with a clearer idea of what you can expect from our work together.

I usually see my clients once a week for one hour. The type, frequency and duration of your treatment will be discussed at our initial meeting and will be reviewed throughout your therapy. I also offer sessions via FaceTime or telephone support and this is something that we would also discuss during our initial consultation.

Group work can be an incredibly helpful forum to allow us to explore certain topics and ourselves within a social context. It can give us the unique opportunity to interact and share with others identifying the conflicts and anxieties that arise in interpersonal relationships. If you are interested in exploring group work this is something that we can discuss during our consultation meeting together.
